This hot little 427 small block was built for a really nice 66 Mustang owned by Scott Emmel. It is one of the strongest, most reliable power plants you can get in a streetable package that can run all day, every day, and compete at the race track on the weekends. This one has a World race block, a Scat 4340 forged crank and 6.250" H-beam rods with super light forged JE pistons, A custom billet roller cam with lightweight roller lifters, CNC'd AFR heads, Jesle shaft rockers, a port matched Edelbrock Victor intake manifold, a Quick Fuel carb and a re-curved MSD ignition to name just a few.
On the dyno it made 538HP and 566 Ft Lbs of torque on pump gas. The Stuska dyno we use is VERY conservative on numbers. They are not known for spitting-out big power numbers like Dynojet or SuperFlow dynos are notorious for. This engine would have shown a good 5% -nbsp;8% o so more on a Dynojet which would have shown this beast making more like 580 or so HP and upwards of 600 Ft Lbs of axle twisting torque on any other dyno. We've experienced this very thing numerous times with engines we've ran on this dyno and then again on a Dynojet or SuperFlow later-on for additional tuning or parts changes.
Something like this, in this trim would run you in the area of $16,000 - $17,000 or so, especially if you want nice things like Jesel shaft rockers and all of the billet brackets, pulleys, fuel pump, dynoing, etc. This little beast will absolutely eat-up and spit-out ANY wanna-be crate engine, and it'll last longer because it is built stronger than those "bargain priced" crate engines. This is THE ultimate engine for a Cobra kit car, a street / strip Mustang, or anyone that wants a "real deal" serious performance engine that'll stomp everyone's butt in your area on a daily basis.
