68 Mustang

This "Bullet" 68 Mustang belongs to Matt Arthurs from Pennsylvania. He is in the military and currently stationed down in Barstow, CA. so he trailered it to our shop for a complete make-over. We yanked-out the tired old 302 and the old C-4 automatic trans and stuffed-in a nasty 351W backed-up with a new Tremec T-5 tranny. His 351W has 10:1 TRW flat tops fitted with moly rings. The crank, rods and Edelbrock Performer RPM heads are all held in place with ARP bolts. We went with one of our stout .520" lift cams and Ford Motorsport roller rockers and chrome moly push rods. It's topped-off with a 750 Holley mounted on an Edelbrock Torker II intake manifold. The spark is fired by a billet MSD distributor controlled by an MSD 6A-L box. We installed a complete Total Control frame package including weld-on sub frame connectors and a tubular K-member with Southside Machine lift bars which will improve handling and help plant the new 50 series tires mounted on 17x8 polished Americans. The stock 2.79 rear-end got pulled and we installed a set of Richmond 3.55's along with a PowerTrax locker unit. We had our friend Dave Crawford of Dave's Muffler Service install a new aluminized 2 1/2" exhaust system with MeanStreak mufflers which mate-up to the ceramic coated shorty headers we installed. Needless to say, it's hard to keep straight when the throttle is punched! Matt wanted something to beat most of the late model 'Vette's in his area, and he got it!
