Wayne's Cool 57 Chevy
This fabulous looking 57 Bel Air belongs to Sonoma's Wayne Keegan. It came in for some engine upgrades and got a little more than that while it was here. It had a basic GM crate engine in it that just wasn't cutting it (as usual) power wise, so we yanked off the heads and took out the weenie cam and installed a set of nice Edelbrock RPM heads, some Crane roller rockers, chrome moly push rods and a killer cam among other things. We also installed a complete March billet serpentine pulley system and did some other mods here and there. The TH-350 Wayne had in it came out, and in went a brand new 700R4 over drive tranny with a 2,600 RPM stall converter and a B&M Mega shifter. It shreds the tires now and cruises down the highway at 70 MPH at about 2,000 RPM, which makes this old beauty the ultimate cruising machine. The suspension got a little upgrade as well while it was here, with a complete power rack and pinion system which complimented the existing disc brakes. Now it not only looks and goes like it should, it also steers like a dream too!
