A Picture's Worth a Thousand Words.

A Picture's Worth a Thousand Words.

When you're working on a project that you aren't real familiar with, or if you're a greenhorn mechanic that's learning as you go, one of the best ways to keep yourself out of trouble for remembering how brackets went, where springs go, which hoses hook-up to where, which vacuum hoses went to which ports, where wires went, etc, is to take a few pictures from all different angles of your project before you do anything, this way when you go to put it all back together again, you can go back and look at the pictures to see exactly how things were before you took it apart. This comes in REAL handy in the engine bay for pulleys, brackets, hoses, belts, electrical & wiring, vacuum hoses, etc, and also for brake shoes & springs, suspension components, etc,  Every phone these days has a camera, so you can go back and zoom-in with really good resolution to see exactly how things were if you happened to forget. It can save a lot of headaches!
