69 Camaro From Hell

This 69 blown & injected Camaro belongs to one of our long time customers down in south bay. The engine in it before was just too weenie so we yanked it out and built this absolutely bad to the bone blown & injected 540 cubic inch beast for it. It started off as a GM Performance Gen VI 4 bolt main block that we fully prepped and machined, then we added a Scat 4340 forged crank, Scat 4340 H beam rods, JE forged pistons, a billet roller cam & lifters, Edelbrock rectangle port heads with a stage II port job, Comp Cams Ultra Pro Magnum rockers with billet stud girdles, a Blower Shop 10-71 supercharger topped off with a BDS EFI system with 16 injectors. Behind all of this is a very well built TH-400 trans with a 4,500 RPM stall converter, a Fab 9 rear-end with 40 spline axles and 3.91 gears. The chassis is a full tube type with a 4 link rear and coil overs both front and back. This car runs as strong as it looks. With a mild tune and modest boost on pump gas it makes right at 900 HP and can EASILY be bumped-up to make 1,100 or more HP on race gas with a little more boost.

Take a good look at the dash. That ain't no Camaro dash! Being that the entire car is customized, why stay with the original "style" of dash? Camaro's all have their dashes with the gauiges low and at an odd angle (facing downward) anyway, which makes it difficult to put race gauges in that face upward so you can see them, so why not just install a cool dash with the gauges on top, staring you right in the face like this 1959 Chevy dash does? So in went this dash, and boy did it turn out nice! It's not only unique, it looks much better than having your gauges at lap height where you have to look downward to see them.
